5 of the best… natural body lotions

Do you moisturise? Do you moisturise anywhere other than your face and maybe your hands if you squeeze out a little too much cream? No, us either! Which is mental when you think that the skin is the largest organ in our bodies. So shouldn’t we pay attention to what we put on it? Yet for some reason so many of us ignore our bodies and only treat the skin on our faces.

However, all that is set to change this year, as our favourite brands start to pay more attention to body products. With several releasing new treats that use the same level of science that we’ve come to expect from skincare. So in the third part of our natural beauty series, we’re shedding light on the best body moisturisers on the market. All of which are natural, some of which are vegan friendly and all of which smell delicious!

The organic option

NEOM is one of those cult brands that started from one woman’s kitchen and has grown to be stocked in Brown Thomas and Marks & Spencer stores. It uses all organic products and essential oils of the highest quality to produce products that bring about very real results and impact on mood. We love the candles, and we’re going crazy for the new face oil, but the body lotion is our go to for nights when we need extra help to fall asleep.

The vegan option

Labels can be confusing, especially when it comes to beauty products which aren’t regulated around the term Organic. Meaning a brand can claim to be natural or organic and only be referring to 1% of ingredients. So it’s good when you come across an affordable, responsible and results-driven brand which also happens to be organic. Step forward Ren.

The Irish option

Human + Kind was founded in Cork in 2011 and since then has gone to become one of the most recognisable natural brands out there. From the unique packaging to the high quality products times we find it hard to believe the price tag.

The natural option

Seaweed baths are nothing new, and the benefits they have on sports and life beaten body are well known. Likewise Voya is an Irish success story known to most of us. But just because a brand is well-known doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve a mention. The seaweed for each and every Voya product is handpicked in Strandhill in Sligo and its Softly Does It body lotion is a cult favourite.

The iconic option

Aveda was one of the first natural brands to break the mainstream beauty market. And there’s a reason that decades later it’s still going strong. While we’re all about the newly launched chakra mists and to do dye for (see what we did?) hair products, we’ll always come back to the body lotions.
