If you’re struggling to live a healthier life why not try small changes? These health hacks are small but achievable and will pack a real punch to your day
What are these health hacks? Try to add one a day and by the end of the week you’ll be a healthier you!
Start your day with lemon and water
Starting your day with warm water and a slice of lemon helps to flush all those nasty toxins out of your body. It also kick starts your digestive system which helps you both look and feel better. Now that’s an easy health hack!
Meditate to clear your mind
We’ve spoken before about the benefits of meditation, and it’s the ideal health hack to help set yourself up for the day ahead. We have a tendency to take stresses from one day in to the other, but meditation helps us get rid the mind of mindless chatter. Meaning we learn how to respond instead of react.
Take a stretch
Whether it’s first thing in the morning or at your desk come 11am, taking a stretch break is beneficial for both the body and mind. If you have time in the morning doing some simple yoga stretches before you even get out of bed can help warm up the joints before you start to weight bear. Likewise, if you sit at a desk all day hunched over a computer then taking a five minute break every hour just to correct your posture and pull your shoulders back can make all the difference.
Pimp your water
If you struggle to hit your recommended eight classes of water a day then why not pimp your water bottle? Add your favourite fruit or mint leaves to give it more flavour. If even that doesn’t work then try to carry water with you everywhere you go. In the car, at your desk, while cooking – often we become dehydrated because we’re not in the habit of drinking enough.
Count minutes instead of steps
Ten thousand steps can seem overwhelming. So, if you can’t commit to that, or are unlikely to try, count minutes instead. Can you fit three 10-minute walks into your day? Morning and evening commute and lunch time perhaps? Get away from your desk and go walking. Get off the bus early and walk. If you plan, three 10-minute walks is very doable.
Wake up five minutes early and be grateful
What you think you attract, so if you you’re grateful for what you already have you’ll attract more of it into your life. Don’t know where to start? Check out Gerry Hussey’s guide to practicing gratitude.
