Derval O’Rourke is one of Ireland’s most successful and decorated international sports stars. World Champion in 2006 in the 60m hurdles, she also won three European silvers and a bronze medal across her career. O’Rourke represented Ireland at the Olympics on three occasions, in Athens, Beijing and London. She is also the Irish national record holder at 50m hurdles Indoor, 60m hurdles indoor and 100m hurdles outdoor. Following her retirement from the track Derval has become a best selling author, with her healthy eating cook book “Food For The Fast Lane” a number one best seller in Ireland. Outside of finishing her second cook book, which will be out now. She was also the winning coach in her debut season on RTE One’s Ireland’s Fittest Family show ahead of Davy Fitzgerald, Jason Sherlock and Kenny Egan. Derval’s second book on healthy eating and lifestyle, The Fit Foodie, was released on the 4th August. She lives in Cork with her husband Peter and her baby girl Dafne.
