Highlights from Day 2 WellFest 2017

Waking up to an extremely bright morning, what a change from yesterday! I layer on the SPF and grab my sunglasses before making my way swiftly to Herbert Park.

Feeling a bit sore from yesterday’s classes, my friends and I agree to ease ourselves in today. Once we get our caffeine from Cocobrew, we head to WellTalk to catch Gerry Hussey at 10.15. Feeling inspired, we make our way to WellYoga for a twenty-minute practice with Lee Tracey. This hip and hamstrings stretch is exactly what we need!

With 40minutes until YogaFlow with The Southern Yogi & Keoni, we make our way around the WellVillage areas. With plenty of goodies on offer – we both purchase a mix from Boutique Bake and some sin-free treats from Eat Like Apes. The sun is still shining as we roll out our mats amongst thousands of others waiting for YogaFlow to kick off. The energy that flows during this practice is amazing. Morgan and Keoni even work though the crowd offering assistance to us – dreams do come true!

1pm and its time to get ourselves some lunch (we go for Kanum Thai today) and head back to WellTalk for The Food Medic’s, Hazel Wallace, “Mindset and Training” talk. Refuelled and motivated we march with the crowd to WellStage. Faisal, Mr PMA, the Barry’s Bootcamp Master Trainer leading a HIIT session. We certainly felt the burn but it’s obvious why he has the nickname Mr PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) – Faisal is full of positive energy and words of encouragement throughout the HIIT. We even get to chat to him after – once we had caught our breath!

Time to rehydrate before battling each other in the Pure Results Fitness Challenge – set up as an assault course, jumping over bails and crawling under a net, it would be hard not to get carried away with this challenge! One final hour before WellFest 2017 is over for another year, we wrap it up with The Happy Pear in WellFood. They are the most dynamic duo! Giving away copies of their cookbooks, smoothies and energy bars to the crowd. It’s fair to say everyone was leaving with a smile on their face.

Day 2 of WellFest 2017 was simply perfect. Probably the warmest day of the year paired with amazing talks, classes and demo’s lead by the biggest names in the industries – what better way to spend a Sunday? We are already counting down to WellFest 2018!!!
