Are you ready for the first fitness challenge of WellGood? Get involved by trying Philly McMahon’s Bodyweight Workout.

Philly is passionate about functional training, as he believes in order to reap the rewards, we must move all of our body and move it in the right way. Put simply, functional exercises train your muscles to work together. It also helps prepare them for daily tasks, by simulating common movements you might do at home, at work or participating in sports.

This bodyweight hybrid workout can be done from the comfort of your own home or you can give it a go at the gym. You’ll need a stick, such as a broomstick, and a chair.

8 reps per exercise and 3 rounds of each circuit

Circuit 1

  1. Press-up rotates
  2. Single leg squats
  3. Overhead deadlifts

Circuit 2

  1. On all fours
  2. Burpees
  3. Dive-bombers

Circuit 3

  1. Lateral step-ups
  2. Single leg glute bridges
  3. Plank jacks
