If you’re on the fence about Reformer Pilates, it may be time to reconsider as it could just be the one thing missing from your training regime.
We’ve all heard the saying, summer bodies are made in the winter, and it’s true. There is no point believing some so called experts who promises you your dream summer body with zero effort. If it was true, and that easy, surely you’d already have it by now? Below I’ve listed the main reasons (in my opinion) why adding Reformer Pilates to your workout is all you need to get that sought after summer body.
Time to get serious
If you’re a regular to class then you know how good they can be but maybe you’re sitting on the fence and not sure Reformer Pilates is for you? Here’s my list of why it is perfect for you. For those regular to classes, now might be a good time to step out of your comfort zone and move from your L1 up to L2 or try out a Cardio Jumpboard class. You might even be brave enough to try L3 or go to an instructor who’s known to push hard in class.
Reformer Pilates Burns Fat
Reformer Pilates is movement, movement burns fat. It is kind of that simple. The Reformer can be used in so many different ways that you are unlimited in your training. Cardio Jumpboard classes bring the high intensity and sweat factor to the class. Jumping with resistance, safely may we add, allows the heart and lunges to work hard. This in turn gets your metabolism fired up. I’m yet to meet a person who hasn’t left a Cardio Jumpboard class dripping in sweat.
Reformer Pilates is ALL core
Let’s be honest for a second, who doesn’t want abs to die for? Lads, we all want that rippling six pack, the Zac Efron V and obliques that Thor would be proud of. Girls, you have your ab idols too. So what better way to get them than training your core in every session. You can do sit ups at home until you are blue in the face without any progress, because the core area is made up of multiple abs. From transverse to external obliques and everything in between, they all need just as much work. Reformer Pilates hits every part of that area. Every exercise in class involves the core.
Reformer Pilates Targets EVERY Muscle
The great thing about Reformer Pilates is that you hit every muscle. It is a full body workout in one go. No need to split your training days or double up on workouts in the day, one class fits all. The benefit of that is, everything tones up. While your abs are getting a good work out, so is your chest, arms, legs, fingers and toes. You’ll walk out of class feeling muscles you didn’t know you had. By targeting multiple muscle groups you tone up the whole body.
The Other Bonus Effects
Reformer Pilates changes your shape. Fact. You will tone up, get stronger, become leaner, increase your cardio fitness and improve your mental well being. You can be add these to your other training routines outside the studio. Also remember, exercise creates endorphins, endorphins make you happy. Thanks Elle Woods!
