Participants can use it as a warm-up, cool down, recovery, fitness-testing, HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training), endurance training and much more.

As with its variety of uses, spinning provides a variety of benefits as well.

  • It’s a cardiovascular workout

    One way of keeping your heart healthy is to get your BPM (Beats Per Minute) up for a sustained period of time. Aim for a few times a week for 30 minutes or so, spinning certainly does this! Use the flywheel that is attached to the bike, this is where resistance can be changed. This allows you to make your workout harder or easier depending on the goal of the session.

  • Easy on your joints

    If you suffer with niggling joint-pain then spinning could provide you with a new lease of life. Its low impact nature allows you to reap the benefits of cardio without putting your joints through strain. Research has also shown that spinning is a great exercise in both reducing fat mass and also maintaining muscle mass due to its low impact nature.

  • It’s a great group exercise

    If you have ever stepped foot in a gym or had a browse through a timetable you’ll have seen a spinning class. Numerous ones in-fact!  This is because spinning is perfect for friends or groups to do together. Good music and good instructors make classes great fun. While the virtual reality sessions can make it a unique experience.

Our friends over at Spinning by Precor have mastered and developed some of the most challenging and enjoyable spinning workouts out there, and they’ll be providing WellFest goers with these experiences all weekend! Come on May 11th-12th!
