We are delighted to announced a brand new area for WellFest 2018, WellMum in association with The Stork Box, as well as an expanded WellKids area in association with Irish Life Health.
Brand New WellMum Area
The new WellMum area will have a dedicated programme of pregnancy and parenting-focused content curated by The Stork Box over the two days of WellFest, 12th and 13th May, at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. Activities on offer will include baby yoga, antenatal Pilates, infant nutrition and sleeping sessions, as well as tips on health, fitness and wellness during pregnancy, post-partum and in the baby’s first year.
WellMum is sponsored by The Stork Box online pregnancy resource and retailer founded by Obstetrician Dr Vicky O’Dwyer and sister Sophie Cafolla.
Expanded Children’s Area
Alongside WellMum, WellFest’s children’s area, WellKids, will expand this year, due to the high demand and interest seen in 2017.
Sponsored by Irish Life Health again this year, WellKids will offer child-friendly activities, including kids’ Zumba and yoga classes, as well as a variety of fun classes taught by professional children’s fitness company RINKA. Partnership classes will also be on offer, allowing children and their parents or guardians to partner up and try out new activities together.
Commenting on the announcement, WellFest Co-Founder Katie Ryan said the festival is expanding its family focus based on the demand at last year’s event for family-friendly activities.
“In response to the feedback we’ve received and the high demand for family-focused content, we’re unveiling our expanded children’s programme this year, as well as our new dedicated WellMum space. We’re really looking forward to having this content for new and expecting mothers as part of the line-up.
“Parents now are really keen to give their children a strong grounding in healthy eating, fitness and wellness – and to spark that interest from a very early age.” she said.
“We’re delighted to provide this fun and accessible way for parents to introduce their children to wellbeing through WellKids – and to get more information themselves on keeping their families healthy.”
Dr. Vicky O’Dwyer OBGYN, co-founder of WellMum sponsor The Stork Box, said: “We are thrilled to be a part of WellFest 2018. Our goal is to provide advice for expectant and new mums using our personal and professional experience. We are delighted to be able to do this in our capacity as sponsor and bring so many experienced voices together at WellFest, offering such a variety of practical advice and activities.”
Liz Rowen, Head of Marketing for Irish Life Health, sponsors of WellKids and WellTalk, said: “The WellKids zone last year was great fun so we are delighted to be involved again this year to help parents and kids really enjoy their time at WellFest. It was a joy to see families coming together to learn new skills, take part in fitness activities and, most of all, have fun! With a bigger area this year, even more kids and families can get involved.”
As well as WellKids and WellMum, line-up highlights for WellFest 2018 include: Davina McCall, presenter turned fitness guru and the UK’s number 1 fitness DVD franchise; Joe Wicks ‘The Body Coach’ – the man behind the ‘Lean in 15’ phenomenon; and best-selling author and entrepreneur Ella Mills, founder of Deliciously Ella.
