From baking to breathing, there’s something on for everyone this weekend

Looking for something to do this weekend? Here’s a roundup of the best wellness-inspired events taking place around the country

What’s on in Dublin?

Scone & Jam Masterclass @ Camerino

Camerino Bakery is a local bakery, cakery and coffee shop where everything is freshly made using the best ingredients and lovin’ from the oven. Their scones were named as one of The Irish Times’ Top 100 Things to Eat in Ireland! So what better way to pass the time than by learning how to make your own scones from this award-winning team.

You will learn through demonstration how to make the perfect fluffy, flavoursome and delicious scones during this guided practical instruction with an award-winning baker. Thereafter you will then learn how to make scrumptious jam, which you can replicate at home!

Recipes will be provided on the day, plus you then get to take home the scones and jam you’ve created in your baking class. Ideal with your favourite cuppa!

Saturday, 19 October from 12pm – 1.30pm / 2pm – 3.30pm. Tickets are priced €35 and are available here

The Art of Breathing @ Dublin Wellness Centre

Breathwork is a deep process of conscious connected breathing, to release and let go of negative feelings, traumas, stress and so on. Breathwork is about utilising our breath to reach out to all the unspoken and repressed issues we carry around with us, sometimes without even realising. The benefits of breathwork are numerous, to name a few:

  • Fill yourself with energy and motivation
  • Increase your mind-body balance
  • Release trauma, anxiety, phobia
  • Let go of stress
  • Clear your mind to get a good night sleep
  • Root out patterns that keep repeating themselves and sabotage relationships, personal growth, happiness, etc.

Saturday, 19 October from 10am – 12.30pm. Tickets are priced €47.58 and are available here

What’s on in Cork?

Soul Sessions @ The Alchemy School of Yoga

This class will ease you into a surrender of long delicious, at times supported, postures that help relieve the effects of chronic stress. The entire class is offered with the bonus of soul music to move you through the weekend. The combination of yin yoga (inward-looking, meditative practice) with soul music (universal yearning of the heart for deep connection) creates the unexpected and euphoric effect of a deep and regenerative re-connection to the heart and soul.
Sunday, 20 October from 2pm – 3.30pm. Tickets are priced art €15 and are available here
