Christmas parties are in full swing, but there are still some wellness-focussed events taking place around the capital, if you look hard enough. Thankfully, we’ve done the looking for you! So here’s the best of what’s on this weekend.

What’s on in Dublin?

Charity Festive Yoga Evening @ Huckletree

Join the people at Namaste Ireland for a free, donation-based, yoga event in aid of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin.

The evening will include a vinyasa flow practice lead by Amy O’Brien, followed by guided yin meditation by Grace Tempany. The event will finish with live music performed by singer-songwriter Samyel and Jenny Ní Ruiséil. All yoga mats will be provided on the evening as the event is supported by Lululemon so you may travel light!

Sacred Solstice Full Moon Flow

Celebrate the Winter Solistice with a workshop designed to help you rest, celebrate and look to the new year with excitement.

Take the opportunity to evaluate; realign with  goals and ideals andl ook toward the new year ahead. Harnessing the double energies of the solistice and the full moon this will be a restorative flowing practice. Expect repetitive and playful sequences which allow the body to gently release the tightness and tiredness that can settle in at this time of year. The practice will be followed with a full moon meditation to activate the heart  and a restful healing yoga nidra.

A Winter Slow Vinyasa Workshop 

Join Rohan Hennessy for a slow flow workshop specifically designed to help beat the cold weather! In colder weather our muscles naturally tense up, joints tighten and aches and pains become commonplace. This workshop aims to reverse the effects of these cold and dark winter days. You’ll begin with several long, flowing sequences of asanas to warm the body and loosen up. Then the workshop will move into some deep hip and shoulder openers to release the stiffness from these major joints. After that the class will bring more movement into the spine and open the chest with a series of twists and backbends before a gentle warm down and long relaxation.
