An ADHIKARIN – according to my Sanskrit sources- is not merely a student, but an ‘eligible person or qualified aspirant.’ It’s an interesting contemplation- that learning is such a sacred and precious enterprise that the student should demonstrate eligibility (respect? integrity?) before receiving this gift . It’s infrequent in my workshops, but when I taught more studio classes, I’d had a few experiences where I'd arrive in earnest, fully prepared to serve – and encounter that student who giggles, chats or naps during the centering portion of class. I once had a woman do mat-pilates warm ups while i was giving an opening dharma talk . . Y’all know that I am as nice as they come, but I’m ok with firmly asking a student to please sit up and focus. It’s not ego. I’m not asking them to sit up for ME, but rather for the teachings; the lineage of Grace that brought these teachings to us for millennia. I think of my teachers and my teachers’ teachers and … well. Don’t just come to class with your body. Bring your supple heart and vibrant mind. And bring your curiosity. It’s ok if you’re a beginner. Even as a newbie, if you are curious and a seeker with a true desire to evolve, you are an Adhikarin. Welcome. Pilates, Pizza & Pink Gin @ The Jar

Bringing together our favourite things, this event is all about the Power of Pink -Pilates, pizza and pink gin with Powered Pink’s Dearbhla Mitchell.

Dearbhla is the creator of Powdered Pink and an instructor with Platinum Pilates and is determined that this event helps find the mix between health and well-being. While also rewarding yourself.

The class will be held in the first floor garden terrace and afterwards enjoy an assortment of wood-fired base pizzas (including veggie & vegan options). Not forgetting those all-important pink gin inspired beverages, to wind down and relax.

Sunday, 17 June from 1pm – 3pm. Tickets are priced @ €28.83 and are available here
