Ellen Keane is a five-time Paralympian and Tokyo 2020 gold medallist in the 100m breaststroke, with a bronze medal from Rio 2016. Since retiring from competitive swimming after the Paris Paralympic Games, she has embraced new challenges and is currently training for the Women’s Mini Marathon, proving that movement and goal-setting remain key to her well-being.
Beyond sport, Ellen is a passionate advocate for disability awareness, using her platform to break down barriers and promote inclusion. She launched her podcast The D-Word in 2022, exploring disability through humour and open conversations, and in 2024, she published Perfectly Imperfect, sharing personal anecdotes and practical advice.
A qualified yoga teacher, Ellen believes in movement for both mental and physical health, incorporating running, yoga, and walking her beloved dachshunds into her daily life. Her journey continues to inspire others to embrace self-acceptance, resilience, and the joy of trying new things.
